Visualising Peace Programme

“It’s a workshop, a coaching space, a resource base and a community, all rolled into one…….”

Lack of peace, internal conflict or resistance, friction in relationships? If this sounds like you’re not alone. 1 in 4 people in the Western world is affected by some form of stress that leads to depression or anxiety and it’s reached epic proportions. But still it seems easier to leave it, ignore the signs, face the other direction or just live through it.

Resistance and the low level conflict of arguments, frustration, resentment and anger has an effect, it has the power to harm, affecting well-being. But if you can turn the negative into positives, you can also bring about healing and new understanding to relationships.

Often we want difficult things to be over and done with, let’s solve it and get on with it, if only it were so easy but usually it’s a process and a journey, inner healing and outer relationship building that makes the difference.

It took a long time for me to work out that there are things you can do, (even though I was a mediator and mediation trainer to other professionals) I still made the same mistakes over and over again.

That is until I learned that it is the small steps steps that make the difference, the simple rather than complex steps that are often overlooked and which are key to finding peace.

The Visualising Peace programme

The workshop explores underlying tensions, helping you to identify your triggers and explore strategies to resolve conflict and create peace

The coaching consultation session helps you to assess what situations you want to take action on and make a difference to peace in your life

The visual tools give you practical exercises to work on peace with your family, partner, friends or work colleagues

And the Peaceful Solutions community give you a place to go to get support and advice

It’s a visual and healing journey and a creative way to find peaceful solutions in your life, be they with your partner, family member or in your community.

It’s not about telling you what to do, instead we focus on ‘how to define’ the changes that will allow more peace into your life. When you get that you also get less stress, less anxiety, less guilt and blame, and more healing and transformation in your life.

Along the way we use a range of visual and graphic tools and templates that I have developed to support you in the journey. We will also use other creative processes and practical exercises.

Working through resistance can be playful when you allow yourself to ‘go with the flow’. It’s fun, you will be inspired by others and you will notice more about who you are and what matters to you.

Who is the Visualising Peace Programme for?

The Visualising Peace Programme is for you if you want to look more deeply at the causes and dynamics of resistance and conflict in your life. You will leave feeling empowered to make changes, because when you are ready to confront difficult issues like the impact of conflict in your life, you can find new ways to move past and through obstacles. Something shifts, a bit of magic happens and you will become more confident and emboldened in your ability to make changes that work.

How does the process work?

Visuals help you create a story about what is going on in your life, it is the link between situation and action, if you like it’s the observation space. We use visual tools to connect to feelings, emotions, clarify situations and identify solutions in a way that just talking can’t. When we are engaged in talking it is easy to forget what’s been said before. Using this visual medium you can create links, Peace Markers between each part of the journey.

What you get in the programme

Offline: Half-day workshop

Online: 1×45 minute telephone coaching session after the retreat to help you think about how to take change further

Tools: 2 practical visual tools that you can take away and use during and after the course

Membership of the Peaceful Solutions Community where you can ask questions and get them answered

An evening of creative visual approaches to resolving conflict. The tools have been developed out of my work as a mediator and facilitator, I realised that conversation and pictures is a powerful way to approach Peaceful Solutions. You will have the opportunity to experience large and small visual templates, it's a unique and different approach for coaches, trainers, facilitators, mediators or anyone who is looking for something different, something more than just talk, a way of using words, pictures and movement.

The Main Focus

An evening of creative visual approaches to explore Peaceful Solutions to life’s struggles. We will use graphic templates and visual tools to create healing conversations. Peaceful Solutions gatherings are a space to take time out from your busy schedules and hectic lives and take a moment just to explore some of the stresses you face, a problem or maybe an issue that’s been bothering you and get some support and feedback from others. It really is a group thang and this is my invitation to you to come explore and talk things out in a meaningful conversation.

It’s good to talk and often there isn’t the space for it with people close to you. Allowing more peace in, is a process, its a jog rather than a sprint and this is a unique and different approach for anyone who is open to looking differently at how to create change and get more of what they want from life. I would love to share conversations and hear about the struggles and victories you have been experiencing as we move through 2012.

There is a small charge for the workshops of £10 to cover the room hire and refreshments. Even if you are not able to join us at this month’s “peace gathering” (is that a better name for it?), I invite you to join the Peaceful Solutions Community and share your experiences there and get feedback from myself and other community members. Join the conversation and be part of a peaceful solution.

Date
Thursday 19th April 2011

Timings
The evening will run from 6.30pm – 8.30pm (registration from 6pm)

Venue tbc

NB Please note this is an experiential and participative gathering where you will be sharing situations from your own personal and professional experience.

Date: 19th April, 2011

Start Time: 6:30 pm
End Time: 8:30 pm

Price: £10.00
